This is v14 of my studio practice and music website. I started my web design and development career learning how to update the first version of this site that a friend built for me back in 2003. I redesigned and redeveloped it in 2005 and have been iterating ever since.

v14 was a complete rebuild from the ground up. v11 was the last full rebuild and v12 and v13 were just major redesigns, but left the code base mostly intact. This does not apply to the databse, it has not needed changes or improvements since 2016 when I moved custom field plugins. I pride myself on database structure that can be reused across multiple redesigns.

There were two reasons for this redesign, aesthetically my tastes have changed and I wanted a dark theme that aligned with my Ambitopia design system. The other reason was that I wanted to give myself a hybrid theme, like I have been making for my client for a few years now. I was late to adopt the full block editing themes WordPress has been push for years, and I am still not there because I just don’t need that level of control or honestly the limitation, but the load speeds you gain are meaningful.
