Global South Studies is a digital platform that aims to advance global south studies by offering resources and a network for information-sharing and community-building in the field. GSS needed a new website and brand identity to reflect their growth beyond their previous academic associations and migrate from an outdated Drupal instance. The updated site also needed to preserve their extensive archive of articles originally published on Drupal while leveraging the modern features of WordPress. To meet these needs, we developed a hybrid WordPress theme that seamlessly integrated their existing articles and supported their established workflow for importing content with accurate formatting.
