I have been invited to participate in Legacy Lab New Mexico at the Albuquerque Museum. During the first day Seminar I will be on the panel Physical and Digital Spaces: Artist Houses, Studios, Websites alongside Kathleen Shields and Paula Wilson.
On the second day I will lead a workshop on artist websites in the platform age:
What does it mean to have a digital presence on the internet, and how can we position our work and the ways we show it?
This workshop explores how artists at every stage of their practice can build and protect a lasting legacy in the digital realm—examining not just how we build a digital presence, but how we ensure it remains ours.In an era defined by platforms, artists face a quiet but consequential choice: let the algorithm decide how our work is framed and who sees it, or build toward something more durable.
This workshop explores digital autonomy in the platform age—how to use the tools and platforms that already exist not as endpoints, but as funnels that lead audiences back to spaces you own, control, and can preserve. From social media strategy to independent websites to long-term digital preservation, we’ll dig into the practical realities of maintaining creative autonomy online.
The workshop will be a small group and I will be tailoring it specifically to the group, you can apply here if you are interested in attending.
